Tim Thornton was born and raised in Eagle Rock, California, a small suburb of Los Angeles. He received his Bachelor’s degree ( BFA) from the California College of Arts in 1984. Following art school, he worked as the charge scenic artist for the Performing Arts Program at the University of California at Berkeley. In 2005, he relocated to Montana. His large scale paintings have been regularly featured in both the Missoula and Yellowstone Art Museums’ annual auctions and his work has found its way into several collections in the United States.
